50 Children Ready for School
The two-month "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign has ended, bringing volunteers and partners together to support schoolchildren
For two months, the Kryvyi Rih Volunteer Community center took part in the nationwide "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign. Volunteers, partners and caring residents joined forces to support children from low-income families and families facing difficult life circumstances. Their shared goal was to help schoolchildren prepare for the new school year and make the start of school a happier experience.
During this time, almost 120 kilograms of school supplies were collected and sorted! Notebooks, pens, pencils and other essential school items gradually became complete kits. Volunteers carefully sorted the donations, assembled the supplies and prepared them for distribution to children. As a result, almost 50 complete school kits have already reached their young owners.
An important part of the campaign was the support of the volunteer center's team and volunteers, who collected school supplies, made donations, helped sort items and assembled kits. Hesed clients, as well as the home care and social services departments, also joined the effort, making the support even more substantial.
The team expresses special gratitude to the staff, students and parents of Kryvyi Rih Gymnasium No. 21 of the Kryvyi Rih City Council for their unity and active participation. Thanks to such partnerships, the campaign became a shared effort in which everyone could contribute and help children receive the supplies they needed for school.
The Tetrada brand also provided significant support, continuing its involvement in the initiative for another year by supplying quality stationery and notebooks. The Life Studio project donated an impressive 50 sports backpacks and tote bags. Volunteers used them to pack the prepared school kits so that children received not only essential school supplies but also convenient bags to carry them.
Participants and program leaders from the Hesed Hana Charitable Foundation and the Beit Graham Jewish Community Center also joined the campaign. Their ongoing involvement and partnership helped support the shared initiative. Donations and information volunteering were equally important: every contribution, repost and shared message helped spread the word about the campaign and bring more people into the good cause.
Two months of teamwork once again showed that great results come from dozens of small acts. For some, it was a pack of notebooks; for others, a sports backpack, a financial donation or an hour spent sorting school supplies. Together, these contributions created almost 50 opportunities for children to start the school year with essential supplies and feel the community's support.
Kryvyi Rih Volunteer Community sincerely thanks everyone who joined the "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign. Thank you for your trust, generosity, time and compassion. Thanks to you, childhood becomes brighter even in difficult times, and kindness takes a tangible form - in completed school kits, children's smiles and the confidence that there are always people ready to help.
