A Celebration of Joy and Togetherness
More than 40 children opened the new JE World Junior season together with volunteers from the Chag Sameach project
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, more than 40 children gathered to celebrate the opening of the new JE World Junior club season. Participants enjoyed games, creative activities, quests and plenty of exciting experiences. Volunteers from the Chag Sameach initiative of Do Good, Ukraine! helped make the day special, giving children attention, support and a truly festive atmosphere.
From the very beginning, volunteers actively helped organize the program: welcoming children, assisting with a themed quest, coordinating interactive stations and team challenges. They played and chatted with the young participants, supported them during activities and made sure every child felt part of a friendly team.
One of the highlights was the appearance of life-size costumed characters played by our volunteers. The fairytale characters immediately caught the children's attention: the little ones happily hugged them, took photos and enjoyed the unusual encounter. Soap bubbles, a trampoline and face painting added even more fun and color to the celebration.
Creativity was also part of the program. Volunteers helped organize activities where children could use their imagination and make something with their own hands. Each activity offered a chance to try something new, meet other participants and simply enjoy time together in a cheerful atmosphere.
Conversations about the values that unite the community were another important part of the gathering. Volunteers talked with the children about good deeds, friendship, mutual help and supporting one another. Participants also shared their ideas about what they would like the new club season to be like. After all, JE World Junior is not just about entertainment but also a space for communication, development, discovering Jewish culture and building new friendships.
The celebration ended on a truly colorful note: children enjoyed a burst of color with Holi powders, shared wishes for a sweet and good year and took countless memorable photos. With Rosh Hashanah approaching, the gathering was a wonderful opportunity to talk about good wishes, hopes and new beginnings that the Jewish New Year brings.
For our Chag Sameach volunteers, taking part in such events means much more than helping organize activities. It is a chance to be there for children, support them, play together and create moments they will remember for a long time. Every smile, hug and pair of happy eyes reminds us how important it is to give children a sense of care and belonging to the community.
A new season full of gatherings, creativity, discoveries and good deeds lies ahead for JE World Junior participants. And our volunteers are ready to keep helping create these special moments.
Shanah Tovah Umetukah! May the new year be sweet, kind and filled with joy, friendship and warm gatherings!
