A fairy tale come to life

International Children’s Day is not just an occasion to reflect on the importance of children’s rights and a happy childhood

International Children’s Day is not just a date on the calendar. It is a day that inspires us to do as much as possible for those whose childhoods need warmth, care, and support. With this intention, volunteers from the Lutsk Volunteer Community visited the little residents of the “Phoenix” sanatorium to bring them a touch of magic, lots of joy, and a true feeling of love.

The children were greeted by a magical encounter with the Sun Fairy, who, together with her cheerful helper, animal volunteers, embarked on an imaginary journey with the kids to the Garden of Childhood. It was a world where every flower told its own story, every path led to a new adventure, and every moment was filled with laughter, movement, joy, and genuine emotions.

The children eagerly played, danced, solved riddles, hugged, listened to kind words, and received magical smiles and the support they so deeply need. At the end of the celebration, sweet gifts awaited them - symbols of care and joy that one wants to give again and again.

It was a day when happiness shone in the children’s eyes. A day when adult hearts beat in unison with the children’s. A day when kindness, sincerity, and attention became the main language of communication. Because every child deserves a miracle, a fairy tale, and the feeling that someone remembers them, loves them, and embraces them — even when the world around seems challenging.

We are sincerely grateful to our volunteers, who do not just show up — they come with their hearts. They give more than attention; they create an atmosphere in which childhood shines brightly, even on the darkest days. And it is from these genuine, warm moments that true protection of childhood begins.
