A Good Start
Volunteers concluded the "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign with fun lessons, sweet treats and gifts
The final stage of the annual international charity campaign "Pack a Backpack for a Child" was the "Hello, School!" celebration, organized by our volunteers for children ahead of the new school year. Instead of regular lessons, participants enjoyed interesting challenges, active games, creative activities and plenty of positive emotions. This way, volunteers helped children get ready for school with ease, fun and a positive attitude.
The school adventure began with unusual lessons. In math, children solved problems using pictures, while in Ukrainian, they searched for matching pairs of antonyms. English turned into a game of charades, where they had to act out words without speaking, and in natural science, participants identified animals from photographs.
Art was just as exciting: children drew fantastic creatures, letting their imagination and creativity run free. During homeroom, they practiced packing a school backpack using a checklist - a useful skill that will certainly come in handy throughout the school year.
And what would a school celebration be without lunch? When it was time for a snack break, ice cream and other treats awaited the children. After the fun challenges and creative activities, this brought even more smiles and good spirits.
But the most important part of the celebration was the gifts. Each participant received a package of school supplies to help with their studies. Behind these kits was a major joint effort - the kindness of people who joined the campaign to ensure children had everything they needed for a confident start at school.
The Chief Rabbi of Kropyvnytskyi and the surrounding region, Dan Zakuta, also attended the event. He performed the traditional Elul ritual of blowing the shofar and wished everyone a good and successful year.
The "Hello, School!" celebration was a bright conclusion to the "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign and another reminder of how much we can achieve together. Volunteers gave children not only school supplies but also joy, attention and confidence that there are people ready to support them.
We join in these good wishes and wish everyone a peaceful, successful, happy and sweet year - both the school year and the calendar year! May it be filled with new knowledge, pleasant discoveries and wonderful encounters.
