A holiday that gives childhood
When a child’s eyes shine with joy, and their heart feels safe and warm, you can confidently say: the day was a success
This is exactly how International Children’s Day was celebrated by the volunteers of the Rivne branch of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation and our reliable partners — a day filled with light, care, laughter, and unforgettable experiences.

The day began with an immersion into a festive atmosphere — stories about Shavuot. The children listened with curiosity, learning about the holiday’s traditions, the importance of knowledge, and the passing down of spiritual heritage. It wasn’t just a story — it was a bridge between generations, where every word resonated in the children’s hearts.
Then came the magic of crafts! Volunteers from the “Ball of Kindness” project taught the kids how to create enchanting little birds out of yarn. But most importantly, each bird came to life in the children’s imagination. They gave them names, invented stories, held weddings, tossed little bouquets… In this way, tiny new worlds were born. Joy, imagination, creativity — everything combined to make the atmosphere incredibly lively.

And how could there be a celebration without surprises? When it was time for dessert, the children were in for a real treat — ice cream “vases.” The kids decorated them themselves, creating desserts that were impossible to resist. Light summer flavors, cheerful chatter, and sparkling eyes — this was a true celebration of taste and emotions!
Then… real magic appeared — a bubble machine! Hundreds of shimmering bubbles floated into the sky, reflecting all the colors of the rainbow, while the children ran after them, trying to catch even one. That gentle breeze of joy, that laughter echoing from every corner — this is what true protection of childhood feels like.

The celebration brought together 18 children, including internally displaced children, each of whom felt wanted, accepted, and surrounded by care. It was more than just fun — it was an encounter with childhood at its best: happy, safe, and kind.
At the end, the children went together with the volunteers to McDonald’s, where they enjoyed delicious meals, generously provided in partnership with the restaurant. And of course, dessert was not forgotten — our kind friends from BI-ICE and Skver treated the children to ice cream and healthy sweets.

This day proved once again that childhood is not just about age. It is about the warmth we are able to give. About the sincerity we put into every touch, smile, and word.
We thank everyone who helped create this magical day. Together, we can create even more bright stories!
