A Month of Good Deeds
As part of the campaign, Hillel volunteers supported children, families, beneficiaries, animals, and partner organizations
Throughout the "Month of Good Deeds," volunteers united around a common goal - to be where support, care, and human warmth are needed most. Over the course of several weeks, dozens of meaningful initiatives were implemented, each becoming part of a larger story of mutual support.
One of the most touching events was the visits to the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital. Volunteers held a creative string art workshop for children undergoing treatment. A few hours of creativity, communication, and working together brought sincere emotions and moments of carefree childhood to both children and their parents. These meetings once again reminded everyone how important joy and support are for families going through the difficult journey of treatment.
Food deliveries became another important part of the campaign. Hot meals and food packages reached their recipients, and volunteers once again realized that helping is, above all, about human connection. For many families, these visits have long become much more than simply receiving food. They are opportunities to communicate, talk about their needs, share news, and feel that there are people nearby who truly care.
As part of the "Month of Good Deeds," volunteers also joined other charitable initiatives. Together with partners, they helped at a volunteer headquarters, sorting and packing essential items and supporting the continuous flow of assistance. On the same day, the team visited an animal shelter, where volunteers helped care for its residents, spent time with their four-legged friends, and provided them with much-needed attention and care.
The results of the campaign once again demonstrated that kindness has a powerful ability to unite people. Fourteen organizations joined the "Month of Good Deeds" in various forms of cooperation. Through joint efforts, 374 books, approximately 10 kilograms of animal food, and enough essential items to support 60 families from frontline areas were collected.
Some collected books, others prepared and delivered meals, helped at volunteer headquarters, cared for animals, or supported beneficiaries. All these different actions were united by one idea - changing the world around us through everyday deeds, attention to others, and a willingness to act.
The "Month of Good Deeds" has come to an end, but volunteering has no fixed dates. Kindness does not have to be loud or large-scale to matter. It lives in simple acts, sincere smiles, and in people who choose every day to be there for those who need it most.
