A Project Connecting Past and Present
On the last day of autumn, a unique event took place, leaving its mark on the facades of buildings.
The "Memorial Plaques" project became a symbol of historical memory and respect for those whose fates were touched by the dark period of history.
The choice of November 7th has a dual significance: it is the day of the October Revolution of 1917, a key event in Russian history, and the number corresponds to the quantity of names of the repressed individuals, whose names are now immortalized on the memorials.
This initiative unfolds the pages of history, reminding us of the transition from the bright future promised by the Bolsheviks in 1917 to the bloody terror in 1937. The project becomes a chronicle, where each plaque is not just a name but a story, a life that remained without justice.
The weather also provided favorable conditions for the event. Participants followed the planned route, exchanging stories about the people whose plaques were installed. It was a journey through time, a meeting with the past, whose imprint remains in every corner of the city.
"One name, one life, one sign" – this slogan of the event serves as a reminder of the importance of remembering and honoring every life unjustly taken. Each plaque awakens memory, tells the story of a person who became a victim of Stalinist repression.
The "Memorial Plaques" project has become part of the city's history, adorning building facades with symbols of memory and respect. These plaques are not just marks on walls; they are keys, opening doors to the past, present, and a future based on respect for every life.
