A Warm Shabbat at Home
Volunteers held a home Shabbat gathering as part of the Shabbat Guest project, creating an atmosphere of warmth and support
We are happy to share news about our Shabbat Guest project - this time, we held a particularly warm and meaningful gathering in a home setting.
Volunteers visited one of our clients and shared Shabbat with her at home, creating an atmosphere of comfort, peace, and genuine connection. It was an evening where tradition blended naturally with heartfelt conversation and caring presence.
During the gathering, they discussed the Psalms and their meaning, as well as spiritual stories that convey the values of kindness and mutual respect. They also reflected on the importance of not labeling people and of preserving humanity in the way we treat one another.
The conversation also touched on spiritual traditions and the meaning of Rosh Chodesh as a symbol of new beginnings, renewal, and inner refreshment - something especially meaningful within the Jewish calendar and the story of the Exodus from Egypt.
This Shabbat was quiet, thoughtful, and deeply human. It once again reminded everyone that the greatest value of such gatherings lies not in ceremony, but in simply being present, offering attention, and sharing warmth with one another.
The Shabbat Guest project continues to create opportunities for these home gatherings, where traditions come alive through conversation and support.
