A Week That Brought Caring People Together
Participants of the Good Deeds marathon joined forces to help people, support animals, and care for the environment
The week dedicated to the international Good Deeds Day campaign became a true marathon of kindness, mutual support, and compassion. Over several days, dozens of volunteers, children, young people, and community activists united around one shared goal - to do as many good deeds as possible for people, the community, and the environment.
The marathon brought together the No Limits Youth Club, students of Sumy Secondary School No. 3, the Dealers of Kindness team, and volunteers from Sumy Volunteer Community. Each team carried out its own initiatives, but they were all united by the same desire - to help others and bring care to those who needed it most.
Throughout the week, volunteers helped older adults with household tasks, visited them, and offered warm conversations and heartfelt attention. They also visited healthcare facilities to bring joy to children and adults, deliver gifts, and share words of encouragement. Another important effort focused on supporting people facing difficult life circumstances by collecting and donating toys, books, school supplies, and other essential items.
Homeless animals were not forgotten either - volunteers provided food, helped care for them, and gave them the most valuable gift of all - human kindness and attention. At the same time, participants cared for the environment by cleaning public spaces and improving green areas. They also prepared homemade treats and handcrafted greeting cards with warm wishes for those who especially needed to feel supported.
This week once again proved that acts of kindness are not measured by their scale. They begin with simple, sincere actions that bring people together, inspire hope, and encourage others to do good. Thanks to these shared efforts, every day of the marathon became another step toward a stronger, more united, and more compassionate community.
We sincerely thank everyone who took part in this marathon. Together, we once again proved that kindness is a force capable of changing the world for the better.
