All-Ukrainian campaign “Bring Joy” 2026

The “Bring Joy” campaign, dedicated to the holiday of Purim, has been implemented by volunteer centers in communities for 10 consecutive years

This year, the campaign became a true celebration of unity and care, reaching communities in 17 cities across Ukraine. 20 volunteer centers joined the initiative, and thanks to their cohesion, it was possible to create an atmosphere of warmth and joy even in challenging times.

During the campaign, 110 events were held, involving 243 volunteers and supported by 379 donors and partners. Together, they prepared and delivered gifts to 699 children and 723 elderly people. Volunteers baked 4,289 hamantaschen by hand, which became a symbol of the holiday and a reminder of traditions that unite generations.

Especially touching were the individual visits to elderly people with limited mobility and to children. Many of these elderly individuals had not been able to attend community celebrations for a long time, so mishloach manot and hamantaschen became for them a memory of childhood and youth. One elderly woman, who, due to her health, had not attended community events for years, said with tears in her eyes: “The most valuable thing for me is that you came, spoke with me, and brought a piece of the holiday into my home together with this gift.” Another elderly woman living alone, who received sweets and flowers from volunteers, responded by giving children handmade dolls as a small gesture of gratitude and love.

Children and teenagers also became the true heart of the campaign by joining the volunteer effort. Participants of AJT Junior children’s clubs, together with volunteers, baked hamantaschen for the elderly, took part in workshops, competitions, and volunteer Purim shpiels. Their energy inspired the older generation, and their joint activities created a bridge between generations.

The campaign was multifaceted: charity shows, entertainment programs for children, culinary clubs, intellectual meetings, hamantaschen baking workshops, face painting, mask decorating, and more. Volunteers prepared energy bars, sweets, cookies, and even hummus, organized film screenings and festive performances. Support for the campaign also came from abroad: benefactors from the USA, England, Israel, and Poland sent sweets, costumes, and festive supplies.

This campaign once again proved that volunteering today is a powerful resource capable of quickly mobilizing communities, uniting people of different ages and backgrounds, and creating a sense of unity and joy. The “Bring Joy” campaign is not only about gifts and mishloach manot, but about people who share a part of themselves with others, about generations coming together and creating side by side, about communities that grow stronger through mutual support. And this strength is the greatest gift we can give to one another.
