All-Ukrainian Campaign “Good Jam Day” 2025

The celebration of the month of Tishrei is coming to an end — and with it, our “Good Jam Day” campaign concludes

The campaign aims to support less mobile elderly people during the holidays with a jar of sweet jam — evoking childhood memories and filled with the scent of care!

From August 5 to October 5, the warm, delicious, and deeply humane nationwide “Good Jam Day” campaign took place. Over two months, 18 volunteer centers in 17 cities joined forces to give elderly people a handmade jar of jam, along with feelings of care, attention, and dignity. This initiative became a true celebration of solidarity, where every action — from cooking to giving — was full of meaning.

A total of 204 volunteers and 61 donors took part in the process: some brought berries, some sterilized jars, some cooked, packed, labeled, decorated, prepared packages, and delivered them. As a result, 422 liters of jam, poured into 915 jars, reached 662 elderly people.

But behind these numbers is much more: smiles, conversations, words of gratitude, tears of emotion — moments when doors opened to let joy and celebration into homes. The “Good Jam Day” campaign, once again during an important period for our community, reminded us how crucial it is to see elderly people not merely as “those who need help,” but as carriers of memory, experience, and tradition.

Thanks to the campaign, not only did elderly people feel a bit happier during the holidays, but the community also strengthened, as the connection between generations deepened: young people came with jam and left with stories, new understanding, and warmth in their hearts. In many cities, this interaction became the impetus for new volunteer initiatives — regular visits, correspondence, and joint events.

“Good Jam Day” is about a community that cares, united in looking after everyone, showing that care has a taste! And that taste will stay with the elderly for a long time — until next year!
