Carе for people and nature

For Tu BiShvat, volunteers prepared healthy packages for clients, combining environmental awareness with care for well-being

Ahead of Tu BiShvat, volunteers from the Cherkasy Volunteer Community, operating at the Hesed Dorot center, organized the To Be Eco initiative - an activity that brought together environmental care, health awareness, and support for people.

For participants, this was more than just ecology. It was about responsibility, conscious consumption, and understanding that caring for nature begins with caring for people. Especially in winter, when the body needs additional vitamins and support.

That is why volunteers united around a practical and meaningful activity - preparing fermented vegetables. Free from preservatives and artificial additives - only natural products made with care and attention. The prepared packages were delivered to Hesed clients as well as to people facing difficult life circumstances and undergoing treatment in a hospital.

Another important part of the initiative was the preparation of Amosov paste - a true vitamin-rich blend. It symbolically resonates with the traditions of Tu BiShvat, as it combines ingredients connected to the Seven Species of the Land of Israel - symbols of abundance, blessing, and the connection between people and nature.

The involvement of teenagers became especially touching, as they joined the process of packaging and preparing the sets. It was a true moment of unity between generations, where young people not only helped but also shared warmth, care, and support with those in need.

Tu BiShvat reminds us that just as a tree requires care, so does a person. And through initiatives like this, that care becomes real and tangible.
