Care that grows

The theme of Good Deeds Day — food security — became a great opportunity to turn care into concrete actions.

Our volunteers collected requests in advance from participants of the Food Security program for planting materials: berry bushes, vegetable seeds, and herbs. The goal was simple and important — to enrich the beneficiaries’ diets with homegrown vitamins, supporting independence and stability.

But kindness does not stop with people alone. Our caring clients noticed that after heavy snowfalls, migratory birds needed help. Thus, another initiative appeared — “bird cafes.” In several yards, feeders filled with seeds were installed where tired feathered travelers can find nourishment.

When the weather warmed up, volunteers, together with the beneficiaries, enthusiastically got to work: planting two-year-old seedlings of currants, gooseberries, and other crops in their home gardens. Many participants already have growing seedlings of tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants, which they happily share with each other. This exchange is not just about vegetables — it is an exchange of kindness, care, and mutual support.

Thus, once again, we proved that true good deeds are not only about scale but about the depth of care. They take root in the soil, in hearts, and in the trust between people.
