"Celebration at home" project
In days of celebrating Shavuot by Torah, it is considered traditional to cook and eat dishes that are cooked using milk, so we decieded to share it with others.
However, some of us need it far more than others. This need is the most palpable during the holidays, when loneliness is taking over those, who don’t have a community to celebrate with.
Thus, volunteers of RVC are trying to make holidays even brighter not only for elders who were left alone, but also for kids and their own families!
In days of celebrating Shavuot by Torah, it is considered traditional to cook and eat dishes that are cooked using milk. This year our volunteers have baked thin pancakes with cheese. We delivered, and share them with elders, other volunteers and their families, alongside some words of gratitude.
This “pancakey” project was possible with help of our friends from the charity foundation of Khmelnitsky “Hesed Besht”. They have provided the funds for purchasing 10 sets of materials for baking pancakes. Every set resulted in 4 servings of pancakes, 3 of which were for delivery to others! This way, volunteers have shared the goods with 30 people, most of which were elders that are lonely and their own families!
Kindness and carrying for others are the things that make the world go round! We are thankful to all the volunteers that participated in the project and spared time and culinary skills to share the spirit of holidays with others!
