Celebration by LEV Volunteers

In the cozy Hesed Day Center, a heartfelt celebration full of inspiration and joy dedicated to Tu Bi-Shvat took place.

The wonderful holiday of Tu Bi-Shvat is eagerly awaited throughout the Jewish world, and its traditions are lovingly passed down from generation to generation. This year, to mark the long-awaited event, participants of the project and LEV volunteers gathered. The attendees immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the New Year of Trees.

First, they discussed the traditions of the holiday, paying close attention to the characteristics of each type of tree, their beauty, and the symbolism in Tu Bi-Shvat culture. The conversation was accompanied by active participation from those present and helped fully appreciate the beauty of the surrounding nature.

Spiritual nourishment is crucial for the proper perception of the holiday, but traditional treats are no less important. Therefore, volunteers, together with the participants, conducted a culinary master class where they collaboratively prepared aromatic rolls with fruits symbolizing the fertile land of Israel. Each participant could enjoy the taste of the rolls, experiencing the joy of pleasant conversation.

This wonderful event will be long remembered by its participants, who learned more about the traditions of Tu Bi-Shvat and personally contributed to creating a festive atmosphere. We are confident that each of them will eagerly await the next New Year of Trees to immerse themselves in its atmosphere once again!
