Celebration by the Sea

Volunteers organized a Rosh Ha-Shanah celebration on the beach for former ghetto prisoners – bringing warmth and joy

On the eve of Rosh Ha-Shanah, volunteers from the Odesa Volunteer Community Migdal organized a special celebration for members of the Odesa Association of Jews, former ghetto and Nazi concentration camp prisoners. This year, the event took place on the Kaleton Beach, where the sea air, the sound of the waves, and the warm sun created a true atmosphere of relaxation and joy.

The volunteers prepared everything the guests could need – cool drinks, delicious food, aromatic snacks, and sweets. Every corner was arranged to convey warmth and attention to each person. Guests enjoyed moments of conversation, memories, and light entertainment by the sea, while the volunteers were delighted to see smiles on their faces.

It was especially touching to see people who had lived through difficult times relax, feel the support of the community, and enjoy small pleasures – from a cool drink to a friend’s embrace. This celebration reminded everyone that even simple acts of care and attention can bring incredible warmth to the heart.

Events like these are not just celebrations – they are a living expression of community support and unity. Together, volunteers and guests create memorable moments that remain in the heart forever.
