The volunteers of Hesed Besht organized a lively and joyful children's celebration for International Children's Day. The Hesed center immediately became sunny and cheerful because the students from School No. 5 in Khmelnytskyi came to visit us.
We conducted an interesting tour of Hesed and talked about goodness, compassion, and tolerance.
Moreover, we had a meeting with the writer Maria Demianyuk, who presented her new coloring book "Aronchik's Piggy Bank." The author of the book shared interesting stories from her life, how she was inspired to create such wonderful tales that tell the adventures, good deeds, and Jewish holidays of the boy Aronchik and the girl Hana. The children listened attentively and asked many questions.
The writer also read her children's poems about war, which are very relevant and touched every heart. The children also delighted all of us by sharing their own authored and non-authored poems. The most active participants in the meeting received the writer's books as gifts.
In the context of our discussion about tolerance, we decided to see how well our little ones understood this complex and unfamiliar word, and we were amazed to find out that the children were genuinely informed. After the meeting with the writer, we watched interesting cartoons about tolerance and compassion, and then we all danced a Jewish dance together!
