Ecology and traditions

The volunteers, together with the older generation, created small green oases in their homes, maintaining the traditions of Tu BіShvat

Tu BіShvat is not only the “New Year of Trees” but also a reminder of the importance of nature and our responsibility to it. That is why we have joined the To be ECO, a nationwide volunteer initiative that unites communities in their efforts to make the world a better place.

On this day, we decided to combine traditions, environmental awareness, and warm meetings. Together with the older generation, we planted fragrant mint, which will soon decorate the windowsills of their homes. This plant will not only fill the house with a fresh smell, but will also be a great addition to tea parties, giving health benefits and a good mood.

We also took care of the future of the Passover Seder by sowing bitter herbs such as parsley and coriander in advance. Now everyone is looking forward to the first sprouts! The joint work brought a lot of joy, because each participant felt part of a great Jewish tradition and joined a cause that has a deep symbolic meaning.

This day was a great opportunity not only to plant greenery, but also to spend time in a friendly atmosphere, socialize, and share a good mood. The volunteers not only helped plant the plants, but also talked about Tu BіShvat traditions, environmental habits, and the importance of a responsible attitude to nature.

Each such initiative proves that even small actions can change the world for the better. We thank everyone who joined us and look forward to seeing you again!
