Educational Program "Volunteer School 13.0"
We are pleased to share with you information about the educational course "Volunteer School 13.0" for network volunteers
From March 17 to April 13, the educational course "Volunteer School" took place, gathering compassionate individuals for the thirteenth time who are ready to create change in our communities and organizations.
This time, 47 volunteers from 12 communities across Ukraine participated in the educational course. However, the most valuable aspect was not only the knowledge and practical skills they gained but also the new connections, inspiration, and awareness of their role in the community and society.
Together, the volunteers explored important topics that formed the foundation for sustainable and conscious volunteering: "Volunteering and Its Opportunities. Myths of Volunteering," "Motivation and Healthy Volunteering," "Ethics of Volunteering," "Working with Vulnerable Groups," "Burnout and How to Avoid Complete Exhaustion," "Self and Teamwork. Working in Volunteer Groups," and "Fundraising – How and Where to Find Resources."
The course is structured so that participants receive recorded thematic lessons, allowing volunteers to study at their convenience and at an individual pace. The course is divided into four weeks, with two lessons per week and two test surveys following them. In addition, the program includes four hours of practical work within ongoing projects of the volunteer program. Since the School coincided with the "Day of Good Deeds" campaign, participants actively took part in local events and even developed their own initiatives.
An additional source of inspiration for volunteers was the guest Sunday online sessions with experts who shared their experience and knowledge:
- Oksana Bozhenko (JDC FSU Welfare Services and Training Coordinator) – “Compassion Fatigue.”
- Maryna Krysov (International Consultant in Special and Inclusive Education) – “Volunteering and Inclusion.”
Volunteering is not just about good intentions. It is a force that changes lives, communities, and society. By learning, volunteers acquire tools that make their assistance effective, and most importantly, they learn to take care of themselves to act sustainably and with inspiration.
The course became a platform for professional growth, support, and motivation, and now participants continue to drive change at a more professional and conscious level within their communities, expanding the circle of good.
