"Embroidered Code of the Nation" Project Launch

The goal of the project is to reveal and enrich the cultural heritage of Ukrainian culture through the exploration of embroidery.

In Kryvyi Rih, the volunteer project "Embroidered Code of the Nation" has been launched, where volunteers and caring residents of the city learn cross-stitch embroidery. The goal of the "Embroidered Code of the Nation" project is to reveal and enrich the cultural heritage of Ukrainian culture through the exploration of embroidery as a unique form of expression and symbolism.

Volunteers set the following tasks:

  • Explore and restore the meaning and symbolism of Ukrainian cultural embroidery, including swastikas, runes, protective signs, sacred geometry of the Flower of Life, and the like.
  • Uncover the historical context and traditions associated with embroidery, including the differences in styles and purposes of embroidered shirts in different regions of Ukraine.
  • Develop a methodology for "reading" embroidery that will allow revealing information about the name, age, birthplace, or residence of the person who created the embroidery, as well as other personal details.
  • Engage experts, artists, historians, and folklorists to create publications, exhibitions, and other forms of publicly presenting the research results.
  • Contribute to the preservation and popularization of Ukrainian embroidery as an important part of national heritage.

The first meeting of volunteers as part of the "Embroidered Fate or Code of the Nation" project left unforgettable impressions for everyone involved. Titled "Embroidery Gatherings with a Miracle Guest," this event turned into a true celebration of creativity and inspiration.

During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the art of embroidery and even try new techniques, including hiding the tail in the cross-stitch on the front side and embroidering the words "Volunteer" and "Ukraine." They also shared their ideas and adjusted their embroidery plans, inspiring each other in the creative process.

The meeting was special with an emphasis on the importance of inspiration and the creative process in the art of embroidery.
