Family Picnic

The family picnic for Rosh Hashanah brought volunteers and Hesed participants together with warmth, joy, and hope

On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the center’s volunteers, together with the most active participants of Hesed events, went on a family picnic to celebrate the Jewish New Year and enjoy the last warm days of autumn. This time, we deliberately suggested gathering as families — to get to know each other better, make new friends, involve new volunteers, and create an atmosphere of genuine community.

The celebration took place in a warm, relaxed atmosphere where everyone felt part of a large family. Volunteers put in maximum effort to ensure that everyone was comfortable, well-fed, and happy. Preparing for the picnic became a true team effort: planning the entertainment program, creating the menu, shopping, delivering supplies, preparing firewood, finding a cozy spot for the gathering, and taking care of many small but important details.

The tasks were not easy, but the result exceeded all expectations. In a friendly circle, participants cooked over the fire, took part in quizzes and sports relays, explored the picturesque nature around them, and enjoyed plenty of conversations and laughter. In these moments, it was especially clear that life is beautiful, and the new year will surely bring bright events and positive changes.

At the end, each participant received a beautifully decorated wish — a symbol of faith, hope, and confidence, meant to become a personal motto for the coming year.

Happy upcoming Rosh Hashanah, dear friends! May the new year be peaceful, generous, full of love, prosperity, and warm gatherings. Shana Tova u-Metuka!
