Festive Colors in Every Jar
Volunteers made fruit jam and decorated jars for Rosh Hashanah as part of Good Jam Day
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, volunteers from our center joined the warm and meaningful Good Jam Day initiative. Together, we made fruit jam for older members of the Jewish community in Konotop, putting a little of our care into every jar.
An important part of the campaign was the support of community members who brought fruit and helped fill our shared effort with not only delicious ingredients but also genuine care. Such simple yet meaningful acts created a special atmosphere of unity and mutual support.
Once the jam was ready, the creative part began! Day Center participants decorated the jars by hand, making small fruits from air-dry clay and creating bright, festive lids. Every creation was unique, reflecting the imagination, mood and effort of its maker.
Good Jam Day gave us much more than jars of homemade jam. The day was filled with genuine emotions, smiles, warm conversations and the joy of working together. It also brought heartfelt wishes for one another ahead of the new year.
We sincerely thank everyone who joined the campaign, brought fruit, created decorations, helped and shared their warmth. Thanks to these joint efforts, Good Jam Day became an opportunity to bring attention, good spirits and a sense of care to older community members.
Happy Rosh Hashanah to everyone! May the new year be sweet, peaceful and filled with good deeds, pleasant gatherings and happy moments.
