Finale of the "Blanket of a thousand hearts" action

Volunteers handed over a pulse oximeter and scales for babies to the maternity hospital No. 1 in Krivoy Rih.

Volunteers handed over a pulse oximeter and scales for babies to the maternity hospital No. 1 in Krivoy Rog.

At the same time, 111 woolen blankets, 42 sets for prematurely born children (the set includes a cap, vest, socks and comforters) were handed over by the masters of the “Klubok Dobra” project.

On April 9, 2023, the plaid was recorded in the register book of records of Ukraine as the largest knitted woolen plaid.

It consisted of 150 blankets 1 m long, interconnected by a ribbon. Each square meter consisted of 100 squares 10x10 cm. Residents from all over Ukraine joined in the creation of the squares.

The purpose of this action was to draw attention to the problem of prematurely born children, so that everyone could give their share of love and warmth to these little hurried ones, warm them with our kindness. And we succeeded! There were 111 blankets made of 11,100 squares, which means that about the same number of people were able to give their share of the heart to small newborn babies.

Our goal is to help doctors create decent conditions for maintaining the life and development of prematurely born babies. Woolen clothes are especially good for keeping babies warm and stimulating blood circulation.

Our hearts are very pleased with the sincere gratitude of mothers who are faced with the need to wrap their babies in warmth, even in 30 ° C heat.

Let's sum up the financial report on the "Plaid of a Thousand Hearts" campaign as part of the "Tangle of Kindness" project:

  • Funds received from the sale of blankets: UAH 10,200
  • Funds received from donations for threads: UAH 2.377

The proceeds were used to purchase a pulse oximeter and electronic scales for newborns.
