"First Day at School" project in Zaporozhye
This year, the event was very needed, as the number of kids who lacked school supplies was raised, due to the tragic events happening in the Ukraine.
This year, the event was very needed, as the number of kids who lacked school supplies was raised, due to the tragic events happening in the Ukraine.
Thus, volunteers have organized a set of “tours” to different parts of Zaporozhye. They have also been organizing entertaining events for kids, to involve as many families as possible.
Volunteers have really organized small, street holidays to share a habit of doing good deeds. After three events like this, we have been able to involve more than 80 families into the project.
As a final “showdown” for this event, volunteers have hosted and organized two fun and bright meet-ups, where they were handing out to kids prepackaged sets of school supplies that were packaged in backpacks. Our highbred actors in funky costumes turned the whole process in a small celebratory interaction.
In an Open Air format, children got to enjoy an entertaining program with different games, dances, magic tricks, and most important positive emotions. One of our most initiative volunteers had also purchased sweet treats for the soon to be first-graders.
Altogether, as a common force, we were able to provide kits of school supplies to 60 different families with a low income and from a bad social background, as well as refugees.
