Forshmak Battle

The beneficiaries of the Day Center and the LEV volunteers organized a forshmak battle filled with friendship and warmth

At the Day Center of the Hesed Shaarei Zion Charitable Foundation, a true culinary battle took place – the Forshmak-Fest. The beneficiaries of the center – people of the golden age – together with the LEV volunteers, competed in preparing their favorite dish – forshmak. This time, however, it was more exciting than usual – each team presented its own recipe with a small twist or a secret ingredient from the past.

The jury – wise and experienced participants of the project – gladly tasted every bite, discussing the aroma, the flavor and the presentation of each dish. Everyone voted with their heart, because the most important thing was not the competition itself, but the sense of togetherness, joy and friendly atmosphere.

Laughter and excitement filled the room – some volunteers cheered for the teams, while others helped with the presentation of the dishes. Each serving of forshmak was a small masterpiece, and every comment from the jury was a sincere acknowledgment of the love and care put into its preparation.

The moment of truth arrived – which forshmak would become the centerpiece of the festive Rosh Ha-Shanah table? It turned out that the true winner was the taste of friendship, warmth and good spirits, as all participants received not only culinary pleasure, but also warm emotions, new acquaintances and a sense of unity.

This battle reminds us that cooking is not only about food – it is about care, attention to detail, the connection between generations and the joy of doing something together. In every spoonful, the forshmak became a symbol of warmth, friendship and celebration that will remain in the hearts of all participants for a long time.

Thanks to such events, our beneficiaries feel the support and love of the community, and volunteers have the opportunity to share happiness, communication and a part of themselves. And this is what makes any culinary battle truly unforgettable.
