Good Deeds Day in Action

Volunteers and community members united to support elderly people, children, and the city through simple everyday acts of kindness

The Good Deeds Day campaign began in our volunteer center, bringing caring people together around the idea of support and mutual assistance.

Among the first to join the initiative was a volunteer family who dedicated their time and care to a lonely elderly man. They helped clean his yard, prune grapevines, and tidy up the garden. Thanks to this assistance, the space around him came back to life, and the beneficiary felt attention, support, and genuine human kindness.

Another good deed was the return of a protective entrance mat to the organization after the winter season by one of the volunteers. Such simple yet important actions make the space cleaner and more comfortable for all visitors every day.

As part of the campaign, volunteers also prepared two batches of varenyky - with potatoes and with plums - which were later distributed to people in need of support. Homemade food became a symbol of care and warmth that can be shared even through a simple meal.

The initiative continued with welcoming people arriving on the early morning train. Near the railway station, volunteers treated passersby to hot tea, coffee, and cookies, offering moments of warmth and a sense of support at the beginning of the day.

The final stage of the campaign was the clean-up of the Museum of History and Religion. Participants enthusiastically joined the effort, putting respect for the space and for their shared heritage into their work. This day once again reminded everyone that even small actions help create a strong culture of care.

A separate part of the campaign was organized by the AJT Teen Club. Teenagers prepared sweets made from matzah and dried fruits with their own hands and distributed them to passersby, while also visiting beneficiaries in their homes. Their small gifts became an unexpected source of joy for many people.

Good Deeds Day once again demonstrated that kindness does not require complicated resources - it begins with simple actions that together create a sense of unity, support, and humanity.
