Good deeds have wings

Kindness has a way of coming back — to the one who gives it and to the one who receives it

This truth is reaffirmed every time, on the last Friday of the month, when the volunteers of Volunteer Community Ukr come together to create a small but very heartfelt celebration as part of the "Shabbat to Go" project.

This time, they gathered once again to prepare Shabbat kits for the beneficiaries of the Charitable Foundation "Hesed Menachem" in Dnipro. Everything was as always: sincere smiles, shared work, lovingly packed parcels filled not only with treats, but also with care, attention, and respect for each person awaiting this symbolic gift.

Inside the boxes  - traditional challah, grape juice, Shabbat candles, warm wishes, and a touch of light. But even more is in the eyes of the volunteers delivering these kits to people's homes. Because each delivery is not just the handing over of a parcel  - it’s a brief conversation, a sincere smile, a moment of support that sometimes means more than anything else.

For many of the recipients, Shabbat to Go is not just help. It is a reminder that they are remembered, valued, and part of a large Jewish community that supports them even from a distance.

We are deeply grateful to all the volunteers who take part in this initiative. Thanks to you, the world becomes kinder, and Shabbat more tangible.
