Heart to Heart
As part of GDD, children, teenagers, parents, and volunteers came together to share warmth and kindness with older adults
Our Migdal community held a truly heartwarming Good Deeds Day, bringing together children, teenagers, parents, and volunteers with one shared goal - to bring joy and care to older members of the community.
The AJT Junior participants lovingly created colourful greeting cards filled with warm wishes. Each one became a special message of kindness, handmade by children and filled with sincere emotions.
Teenagers from the youth club also joined the initiative by taking part in a cooking workshop led by professional chefs. Together they prepared cherry varenyky, potato varenyky, and shortbread cookies. Everyone put care into making their creations not only delicious but also special. After the workshop, the teenagers personally delivered the homemade treats to residents of the Jewish home for older adults.
Parents and volunteers also took part in the initiative. They baked fragrant matzah muffins with apples, cinnamon, and walnuts. The freshly baked treats, together with the children's greeting cards, were delivered to older adults, bringing not only delicious homemade gifts but also heartfelt conversations, care, and joyful moments.
This day became a wonderful example of how different generations can come together for a good cause. Children shared their creativity, teenagers gave their time and effort, and adults offered care and support. Together, they created a truly warm atmosphere that once again reminded everyone that even small acts of kindness can brighten someone's life.
We sincerely thank everyone who took part in this initiative for their compassion, open hearts, and willingness to share kindness. It is moments like these that reveal the true strength of a community.
