Purim celebration for members of the Odesa Association of Jewish Former Ghetto and Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners
Volunteers from Odessa Volunteer Community and Migdal joined forces to give elderly participants an unforgettable celebration filled with Purim's joy, memories, and festive atmosphere.

The celebration began with the traditional reading of the Megillah Esther, which reminded everyone of the events symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, hope, and the strength of the human spirit.
Next, guests enjoyed a Purimspiel - a lively theatrical performance that added lightness and genuine laughter to the holiday. Participants watched with delight as the vivid portrayals of Esther, Mordechai, and other characters came to life, while the warm atmosphere of togetherness made the moment even more special.

After the performance, everyone gathered around the festive table, where guests were treated to traditional Purim delicacies - hamantaschen, fruit sweets, tea, and other treats. Volunteers lovingly served the participants, engaging in heartfelt conversations, sharing stories, and offering support to those who needed to feel part of the community. Songs filled the air, laughter rang out, and smiles lit up every face - these moments reaffirmed just how vital such gatherings truly are.

A special thank you to our volunteers who helped prepare the hall, decorate the space, organize the festive treats, and support every participant of this meaningful event. Thanks to your collective efforts, Purim became not just a holiday, but a true symbol of unity, care, and respect for those who have endured life’s most difficult trials.
May the light of Purim continue to warm our hearts all year long!
