Interaction in a new way
In May, the Interaction project resumed its activities.
Within a month, 30 volunteers, together with teenagers, visited 15 addresses of elderly people who are limited in movement and unable to leave their homes. It's really amazing when teenagers and volunteers join forces to make the day of the older generation even better and brighter.
The guests held a creative master class on drawing using salt, wax and alcohol. A Shabbat meeting was also organized, during which teenagers and volunteers treated grandmothers to beautiful challahs that had been baked the day before. But the main thing was the warm stories and treats with which the grandmothers delighted their guests.
The features of the Interaction project are in its value, experience and wisdom that it brings. Each of the participants receives an unforgettable experience. After each meeting, volunteers, teenagers, and grandparents remain inspired by communication and time spent together, and agree on the next meeting.
Elderly people who spend most of their time within the walls of their house or apartment enjoy two hours of communication with the younger generation. Children tirelessly talk about their childhood adventures, and grandmothers share their stories of first love, failures and life wisdom.
Such initiatives help bring generations closer together and make the day of the elderly even brighter and richer. We are sure that such meetings not only express our respect for these people, but also give young people the opportunity to feel the value of their actions and help others.
