Joy Across Generations
The "Shabbat to Go" project has become more than just a challah delivery initiative; it's a source of double joy.
What could be more important for our future than maintaining connections between generations? Volunteers of the "Shabbat to Go" project understand this better than anyone else, as they actively engage in interactions with the elders of our community every time.
Every Friday, as part of the project, they distribute Shabbat challahs to the elderly to help them welcome the festive evening in accordance with ancient traditions. Fragrant challahs always become the centerpiece of the table, but what gives special significance to the moment is the simple human interaction between the youth and the elderly. It's no secret that people of the "golden age" greatly need companionship, and our young volunteers willingly share not only the warmth of their hearts but also the joy of communication.
Gathered around the Shabbat table, our beneficiaries and volunteers have the opportunity to give each other what is essential in each of us. The elderly gladly share their experiences and, in return, receive respect and recognition from the younger generation. Such meetings benefit both generations, eagerly awaited by both the young and the elderly. It's an act of solidarity and support, the importance of which cannot be overstated.
The "Shabbat to Go" project is successfully evolving, contributing to the maintenance of intergenerational connections and bringing joy by allowing everyone to enjoy special moments of shared communication.
