Learning, Creativity and Care
Volunteers joined the "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign, giving schoolchildren new knowledge and festive cheer
As part of the "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign, volunteers from the Ternopil Volunteer Center provided children not only with school supplies but also with interesting activities, new experiences and creative opportunities. Ahead of the new school year, they organized an educational tour and a workshop to make preparing for school even more exciting and inspiring.
One of the highlights was a visit to the "Pidruchnyky i Posibnyky" publishing house. The children saw how a book is made and followed its journey from an author's idea to a finished publication on bookstore shelves. The schoolchildren learned about the stages of textbook production and discovered how much work, care and skill even a small book requires.
A pleasant surprise for the participants was receiving gifts - new textbooks suited to their school grades.
Another heartwarming event at the end of summer was a pottery workshop. Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, volunteers invited the children to make fruit-shaped honey cups to decorate the festive table. For the schoolchildren, it was a chance to discover pottery, use their imagination and create something special with their own hands.
In Ternopil, the "Pack a Backpack for a Child" campaign became more than support before the new school year. It also offered opportunities for learning, creativity and new experiences. Thanks to the volunteers' initiative, the children received not only useful gifts but also a chance to enjoy their time, discover something new and feel cared for.
After all, preparing a child for school means more than packing a backpack. It also means inspiring them, encouraging their curiosity about the world and helping them begin the new school year with joy and confidence.
