Meeting of generations

The initiative "Visiting Grandma" brings together representatives of different generations: elderly people, children and their parents

In our volunteer project "Wings of Kindness," we have a wonderful program called "Nehama Shel Savta," which is commonly known as "Visiting Grandma." This initiative brings together representatives of different generations: elderly people, children, and their parents. Each meeting within the program is filled with joy, positivity, and warm emotions, and most importantly, they provide an opportunity to share experiences, communicate, and support one another.

This time, the meeting was dedicated to cooking, and our participants had a wonderful opportunity to prepare delicious dishes together. Elderly beneficiaries and children from the community teamed up to make sausages in the dough. The shared cooking experience became a perfect opportunity for spending time together, combining not only fragrant dishes but also warm conversations, friendly stories, and positive emotions.

But the culinary process didn't stop at just sausages in dough! Inspired by the creative process, the children came up with their own culinary experiment — chocolate in dough. This became a real delight for both the little ones and the elderly participants, who eagerly joined in on the innovation. It was a moment when everyone could express their creativity, and the result — delicious chocolate treats — brought much joy to all the participants.

This was not just a cooking workshop, but a true gathering of generations. Children and elderly people chatted, shared experiences, laughed, and created new friendly bonds. The children brought incredible energy and warmth, which was so important for our beneficiaries, as emotional support and spending time together helped maintain inner balance and boost spirits.

At the end of the meeting, a traditional tea party took place with homemade treats. Everyone gathered together to enjoy warm tea and the culinary masterpieces that were the result of their joint efforts and positive spirit.

The "Nehama Shel Savta" program is not just about cooking. It's about mutual support, shared moments of joy, and the exchange of experiences between generations. It gives children the opportunity to learn more about the stories of their grandmothers and grandfathers, while elderly people feel connected to an active community, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

We believe that the "Visiting Grandma" initiative will continue to bring joy to all participants, offering moments of warmth, communication, and support, while also helping to strengthen the bond between generations. Join this wonderful initiative, and may our shared gatherings inspire good deeds and create unforgettable memories!
