Meetings with meaning

As part of the Food Security project, volunteers organized a women’s gathering with a psychologist and a sexologist

Volunteers of the VC Odesa Volunteer Community/Hillel continue to create a space for important and honest conversations, inviting qualified specialists to collaborate. This time, a women’s circle took place, dedicated to the theme of sexuality as a path to oneself – deep, sensitive and highly relevant.

Together with a psychologist and a sexologist, the participants gently and thoughtfully explored topics of the body, personal boundaries, desires, roles and inner wholeness. They spoke about how to inhabit their own bodies, listen to their signals, allow themselves to say “yes” and “no” without shame, distinguish personal needs from imposed expectations and embrace vulnerability as the foundation of true intimacy.

An atmosphere of trust and support helped each participant feel a safe space for dialogue – with herself and with others. The symbolic conclusion was Havdalah – a gentle transition from the quiet of Shabbat to a deeper awareness and inner light.

It is important that such meetings carry not only an educational and supportive mission. Participation is based on donations, and all collected funds are directed toward purchasing food packages for elderly people within the Food Security project. This is how the initiative works: through knowledge, mutual support and care, we help those who need it most today.

By bringing people together around meaningful events, volunteers simultaneously strengthen the community and provide real assistance. True support is when caring for oneself becomes a resource for caring for others.
