Purim Care

Volunteers brought festive gift packages and the spirit of Purim to elderly and homebound community members

The Purim holiday may be over, but its main message - bringing joy, support, and warmth - continued through acts of kindness.

As part of the "Bring Joy" charity initiative, volunteers from the Jewish community of Mykolaiv paid festive visits to elderly and homebound members of the community. For many beneficiaries, these visits became a particularly meaningful sign of attention, care, and human connection.

At the volunteer center, Mishloach Manot gift packages filled with traditional Purim treats were prepared in advance. The packages included sweets and symbolic Hamantaschen, an essential part of the holiday tradition. Volunteers carefully assembled each gift so that every package would become not just a treat, but a genuine expression of care.

Once everything was prepared, teams of volunteers set out to visit the beneficiaries. Along with the gifts, they brought heartfelt conversations, smiles, and a festive atmosphere that remained long after Purim had ended.

The volunteers themselves helped create a special atmosphere - bright, cheerful, and dressed in festive Purim headwear. With this joyful spirit, they brought happiness into the homes of those who were unable to visit the community in person.

For elderly community members, these visits were not only about receiving gifts but also an important reminder that they are remembered, valued, and remain an integral part of the larger community.

This initiative once again demonstrated the power of small acts of kindness and the enduring tradition of mutual support. It is thanks to the dedication of volunteers that the holiday reached those who need attention and human warmth the most.

We sincerely thank the entire volunteer team for their care, kindness, and love for people. After all, a true celebration is the joy that we share with others.
