Purim for All Generations
Volunteers Organized an Intergenerational Meeting with Hamantaschen Baking and a Festive Program for Children from JFS Families
The celebration of Purim at the Beit Dan Volunteer Center brought together representatives of different generations of the community around traditions, creativity, and joyful communication. On the eve of the holiday, several bright events took place, giving participants warm emotions, new impressions, and a sense of unity.
One of the coziest events was an intergenerational meeting during which grandmothers, children, and volunteers baked traditional Purim treats - hamantaschen with poppy seed filling. Participants not only learned about the history and traditions of Purim, but also took part in preparing the festive pastries with their own hands.
During the workshop, a truly family atmosphere prevailed. Representatives of different generations worked together, shared memories, recipes, and stories, and after finishing the baking, continued their communication over a cup of aromatic tea.
Such meetings help not only preserve traditions, but also pass them on from generation to generation. It is through live communication, joint activities, and interaction that a sense of belonging to the community is formed and Jewish cultural heritage is preserved.
An equally bright event was the Purim celebration for children from JFS families, prepared by Beit Dan volunteers. A rich entertainment program was organized for the young participants, including contests, games, dancing, a festive lottery, face painting, and cotton candy.
Throughout the celebration, children's laughter, music, and joyful exclamations filled the air. The children happily participated in contests, communicated with friends, and received the gifts they had dreamed of. At the same time, the festive program helped them learn more about the traditions and significance of Purim.
The volunteers created a special atmosphere, making sure that every child felt important, noticed, and happy. It was thanks to their energy, creative approach, and sincere desire to bring joy that the celebration became unforgettable for all participants.
The event was held in partnership with the Beri Foundation charitable foundation, whose support helped make the celebration even brighter and more memorable.
Purim once again reminded everyone how important unity, mutual support, and shared traditions are. And such events demonstrate that a festive atmosphere is born wherever there are caring people, open hearts, and a desire to bring joy to others.
