Purim Traditions
Purim not only reminds us of the triumph over evil but also emphasizes the importance of sharing joy and caring for one another.
Purim is one of the most joyful holidays, and it's no wonder that each of us eagerly awaits it. But tradition dictates that we not only rejoice but also share our joy, as commanded by the "Mishloach Manot" precept. SVC volunteers implemented this Purim precept as part of the charitable campaign "Bring Joy."
This time, the volunteers decided to focus their efforts on community members with limited mobility, who, due to circumstances, are unable to attend community events. Traditional Purim cookies, hamantaschen, symbolizing the liberation of the Jewish people from the Persians, were prepared for them. This wonderful treat adorned the festive table and served as an expression of care and attention to people facing challenging circumstances.
Along with the traditional treats, the volunteers brought joy to the homes of community members with limited mobility. The hosts appreciated the taste of hamantaschen and thanked the volunteers for the attention and care shown. The warm, friendly interaction made this day special for both the volunteers and their beneficiaries.
The "Bring Joy" campaign demonstrated that even small acts of kindness can significantly improve the situation for those in need of support. With our attention and care, we can "move mountains" and change our society for the better! We thank SVC volunteers for their participation in the initiative and wish it further development!
