Rays of happiness

Good Deeds Day is an annual international initiative that unites millions of people in the desire to make the world a kinder place.

This year, it brought together not only the Jewish community of Vinnytsia but also activists from surrounding towns. The idea is simple — to do good in any way possible. We chose to do this through the warmth of culinary care.

Our volunteers — both youth and older generations — prepared traditional dishes made from matzah. Among them, pancakes with various fillings — both sweet and savory — became a real hit. These were not just treats — they were gestures of attention, love, and respect for people who cannot always leave their homes or participate in community events.

Teenagers from the AJT youth club actively joined in preparing and delivering the meals. They not only distributed packages with freshly made dishes but also communicated with less mobile members of our community, discussed Passover traditions, shared family recipes, and even left cards with warm wishes.

For many recipients, the meeting with volunteers was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. People not only received delicious food but also felt remembered and recognized as part of the large Jewish family, even if they could not be physically present.

This day reminded us once again: good deeds do not require great resources — only willingness and a bit of attention. Kindness is created from simple things: a warm conversation, a sincere wish, a piece of pancake made with love. When we share this, we share light that changes not only a day but also lives.

Thank you to everyone who participated. Together, we build a community where people want to live — caring, attentive, strong. And may every good deed leave behind a ray of happiness.
