Rosh Ha-Shanah in the Community
Volunteers at the center created a cozy Rosh Ha-Shanah celebration — with traditional dishes, gifts, and the warmth of hearts
The morning rays remind us of a new beginning — and hearts are filled with joy and anticipation. In our community center, we welcome Rosh Ha-Shanah, and this holiday would be impossible to imagine without our incredible volunteers.
Rosh Ha-Shanah at the center is always a special time — volunteers, like busy bees, are actively prepared to create a true miracle. The hall was decorated with love — colorful garlands, themed decorations, and festive tables radiated warmth and coziness.
The aromas of traditional Jewish cuisine filled every corner, fried fish, assorted salads and appetizers with apples, pomegranate, and beets, tzimmes, and round challahs baked by volunteers especially for the celebration — all prepared with heart so that every guest could experience the true taste of the holiday.
We made sure that no one left empty-handed — after the festive service, with the sounds of the shofar and prayers — each person received a small gift symbolizing a sweet new year, a shiny apple, fragrant honey, and sweet candies. Touching “Shana Tova” cards, handmade by volunteers, were also distributed — each card carrying a piece of warmth, passed from heart to heart.
Clients of Hesed Besht and community members who could not attend celebrated the holiday from home online, thanks to the “Let’s Connect” program.
This day was filled with warmth, heartfelt conversations, and a true sense of unity. It was family-like, genuine, and exceptionally special.
Happy New Year 5786! May it be peaceful, healthy, and full of happiness for everyone — Shana Tova!
