Saving Ancient Heritage

The restoration of the Zaporizhzhia Oak, which is an ancient natural heritage of the region.

Voznesensky Park in Zaporizhzhia became the site where volunteers from the "Eco" project carried out an important event—the restoration of the local oak species. They planted descendants of an oak tree that is 700 years old, serving as an ancient symbol of the natural heritage of this region.

The volunteers joined the planting of seedlings grown from the last acorns of this oak, successfully nurtured by a local resident. In total, they have already planted 24 sets of 7 branches in each bundle, planning to add another 17 sets.

This is an extraordinary step in preserving this unique oak species, as this initiative not only restores trees but also contributes to the preservation of biodiversity and the natural environment of the region.

This project holds immense significance for future generations. Volunteers dedicated their time and effort to safeguard this valuable natural heritage, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the oaks that have been part of this land for centuries.

The initiative of the "Eco" project volunteers is an excellent example of how collective efforts can lead to significant changes in restoring nature and preserving heritage. This project reminds us of the importance of caring for the environment and how everyone can contribute to this cause.
