"School of life plus" project
Two-day seminar for volunteers with theoretical and practical information about the first aid.
Seminar was divided in two parts: theoretical and practical. During the theoretical part, volunteers have found out about different types of bleeding and ways how to stop it. We studied special devices, instruments (tourniquets and harnesses) and possible ways how to use common things as substitutes.
Participants have also learned what are the consequences that may occur after stopping a bleeding wound. We have discussed modern innovations from the world of medical care – hemostatic bandages, Israeli bandages and other.
During the practical part, volunteers simulated a situation where a person needed a first aid and went step by step about what to do in situation like this, also covering ways of transporting human body in an unconscious state. Event also covered the types of fractured bones, ways how to fixate them and what to do during an accident on the road.
Some volunteers were made up to play people who need first aid. Next came practice of all the acquired theoretical knowledge.
Now, thanks to this wonderful, informative event, our volunteers are in charge of any critical situation!
