Shavuot That Brings Us Together

An exciting journey into the world of Jewish traditions - this is how volunteers celebrated Shavuot together with AJT Junior participants

Shavuot can be not only about traditions and ancient history, but also about treats, interesting discoveries and time spent together. This is exactly what made the celebration our volunteers prepared for AJT Junior participants so warm and special.

While the volunteers worked their magic on festive treats, the children set off on an exciting journey through the mysteries of Shavuot as part of the "As Long as There Is a Letter, There Is a People" program. Through stories, activities and discussions, they discovered the meaning of the holiday, explored ancient manuscripts and reflected on how knowledge, traditions and the written word help a people preserve their identity across generations.

Then it was time to bring together knowledge, teamwork and a good mood. The children and volunteers completed tasks from the family game within the "As Long as There Is a Letter, There Is a People" program. It had everything - interesting questions, searching for answers, making decisions together, excitement and plenty of genuine emotions.

And, of course, what celebration would be complete without treats? The participants enjoyed delicious food lovingly prepared by the volunteers. Around the shared table, conversations and laughter continued, along with that special feeling of closeness that comes from celebrating together.

This Shavuot became a true meeting of generations, traditions and modern life. Ancient texts came alive through children's curiosity, while learning about history became a personal discovery.

Because as long as we read, ask questions, learn and pass our knowledge on to one another - as long as there is a letter, there is a people.

We thank the volunteers for this warm celebration and our young participants for their curiosity, energy and desire to discover traditions together!
