Sphere of Creativity: Shavuot in Numbers
Participants in the "Sphere of Creativity" project decoded the word "Shavuot" by combining mathematics and logic
As part of the "Sphere of Creativity" project, volunteers visited the day center to spend time with older adults and offer them an unusual intellectual activity. This time, they trained not only their imagination and creativity, but also their problem-solving skills, logic and ability to find unconventional solutions.
The main challenge of the gathering was to decode the hidden word "Shavuot." To find the right key, participants had to recall mathematical rules, solve a series of problems and carefully track each answer. They seemed like ordinary math exercises, but this time they held something more - gradually, step by step, the participants moved closer to solving the holiday puzzle.
Each new problem required concentration and careful thought. Sometimes they had to recall a forgotten rule, sometimes double-check their answers, and sometimes a group discussion helped. Working together became one of the most enjoyable parts of the gathering: participants supported one another, searched for answers together and celebrated every small success.
In the end, all the challenges were completed and the hidden word was successfully decoded. But the main result of the gathering was not just the correct answer. Far more important were the good spirits, sincere conversation, the opportunity to solve interesting problems together and that special spark in their eyes when a difficult challenge is finally overcome.
Gatherings like these once again show that people can learn, discover new things and enjoy shared activities at any age. And "Sphere of Creativity" continues to find new ways to combine intellectual challenges, creativity and warm human connection.
