Summer Begins with Dreams
Volunteers welcomed the first day of summer together with children - with a magical adventure, cheerful characters and countless smiles
The first day of summer is always a special moment. It is a time when three whole months of adventures, holidays, sunny days and childhood dreams lie ahead. And for Volunteer Community volunteers, summer traditionally begins with what matters most - the desire to bring joy to children.
The "Yeladim: Territory of Children's Dreams" celebration has begun in cities across Ukraine. Children can enjoy games, quests, creative workshops and gatherings that help make the start of summer truly bright.
For volunteers from Volunteer Community Ukr in Lutsk, this festive marathon began on May 30, when they organized a gathering for children from the community center clubs. Then, on June 1, the team traveled to the Phoenix Rehabilitation Center near Lutsk to give the young participants a true fairy-tale experience.
That day, some unusual guests came to visit the children - their space friends Siaichyk, Lunchyk and the kind Gnome. Together, they set off on a fun adventure, with new tasks and unexpected discoveries waiting at every step.
The children helped save a magical tree, filled a special jar with the brightest and warmest emotions, and together helped the Dove of Friendship take flight. Every task included a little imagination, a little play and plenty of room for children's creativity.
And what celebration would be complete without a sweet ending? After their adventures, the young participants enjoyed delicious juice and cakes. But perhaps the greatest joy came from the chance to spend a little more time together, talk and share their impressions.
To make sure the day remained not only in their memories but also in photographs, a colorful photo session with the fairy-tale characters was organized for the children. Everyone went home with photos that will remind them of this special start to summer for a long time.
For the volunteers, gatherings like these are much more than festive events. They are an opportunity to be there for children, give them positive emotions, offer support and create a space where they can simply play, dream and be happy.
And perhaps that is why summer at Volunteer Community begins this way - with children's laughter, sincere hugs, colorful adventures and eyes filled with genuine joy.
Because "Territory of Children's Dreams" is more than just the name of a celebration. It is a space we create together for children, giving them something truly precious - happy moments they will want to remember.
