The "Telephone Friend" project has become a true ray of light for the members of our Jewish community in their golden years
In today's world, where technology is advancing rapidly and the pace of life is becoming increasingly hectic, elderly people often find themselves alone, feeling isolated and lacking social interaction. Their children and grandchildren live far away, and meetings with peers may be limited due to health conditions or other circumstances.

At times like these, projects that offer warmth, attention, and opportunities for communication become especially valuable. The "Telephone Friend" volunteer project has become a true ray of light for the members of our Jewish community in their golden years. It helps to overcome loneliness, find new friends, and feel supported. Live communication is a crucial aspect of their lives, as a heartfelt conversation improves emotional well-being, provides a sense of significance, brings positive emotions, and helps maintain memory and clarity of thought. Discussions about books, movies, and news allow elderly people to stay informed, discover new interests, and find like-minded individuals. Most importantly, the telephone friend provides a sense of support, as knowing there is someone nearby who is ready to listen and help is very important.
The "Telephone Friend" project is not just about phone calls; it’s real communication that brings joy, warmth, and the feeling that people are not alone. With the support of the Joint, this initiative continues its important mission – helping our dear community members stay active, happy, and feel like part of a large, friendly family.
We thank all the volunteers who make this world warmer!
