Sweet bars made with care. Volunteers of Naches prepare bars with care and attention to bring warmth to those who need it. At the volunteer center of Kyiv Hesed, within the Jewish Hesed Bnei Azriel foundation, there is a very good tradition - gathering together to create energy bars and share time in a warm and supportive atmosphere. It smells of coffee, nuts, and honey, and the space is filled with laughter, jokes, and conversations about life.
These are not ordinary energy bars. Each one contains a secret ingredient - care, attention, love, and the values of community traditions. Volunteers of the culinary club “Naches” within the “Interaction” project prepare them with great dedication, knowing that for many recipients it is not only about calories but also about feeling remembered and valued.
The tradition has existed for more than two years. It is not written in calendars but lives in hearts. Volunteers gather to support one another and those who need help the most. They talk, joke, or simply sit in silence - and in that moment something greater than a healthy snack is created. Warmth and human connection emerge, later reaching those who need it.
These bars quickly find their recipients because they carry more than nourishment - they carry a message: you are not alone, and someone cares about you.
If you want to become part of this meaningful tradition, you are always welcome. There is coffee, work, and conversations waiting. Together we create warmth and make the world a little kinder.
