Sweet Gifts for the Holiday
Volunteers completed Good Jam Day and prepared jars of homemade jam for clients ahead of Rosh Hashanah
Good Jam Day has come to an end, but the kindness poured into every jar of jam has only begun its journey to those we wanted to bring warmth and joy.
Volunteers from our volunteer center completed the final stage of the campaign - festively wrapping the jam they had made by hand with love, good spirits and a sincere desire to bring joy to others. These sweet treats had a special mission ahead - to become part of the Rosh Hashanah celebration, the Jewish New Year.
Every jar was special. It held the aroma of fruit, the taste of summer, the warmth of volunteers' hands and the care with which participants prepared their gifts. The festive packaging added even more warmth and made each treat a pleasant surprise for its future recipient.
Behind this seemingly simple activity was a genuine desire to share kindness. After all, sometimes even a small gift can bring a smile, remind someone that they are cared for and supported, and create a festive feeling. Such gestures of care became especially meaningful ahead of important holidays, when everyone wanted to wish their loved ones and the whole community a happy start to the new year.
After being wrapped, the jars were delivered to clients as part of their Rosh Hashanah celebrations. According to the holiday tradition, sweet treats symbolize wishes for a good and happy year. So these volunteer-made gifts carried not only the taste of homemade jam but also warm wishes for joy, well-being and happy moments ahead.
This marked the end of Good Jam Day - a campaign that was about more than making jam and festive packaging. It was also about the desire to share warmth. The volunteers once again showed that care can take many forms and that good deeds often begin with simple things done from the heart.
May Rosh Hashanah bring light, peace and positive changes, and may the new year be sweet, generous and full of hope. And may every jar of jam remind its recipients that they are remembered, valued and always have a place in caring hearts.
