The art of living with dignity, light, and faith

Everyone has their own story — about trials and strength, about warmth, and about a love for life that never fades, no matter what

These are exactly the women brought together by the creative project “Workshop of Resilience”, organized by the Kyiv Hesed Volunteer Center.

This project is not just a series of meetings. It is a living space of spirit and strength, where women of distinguished age gather weekly to create, inspire one another, and share their wisdom. They mold clay, paint silk scarves, sew dolls and pillows, make jewelry, embroider, sing, bake treats, and simply talk — openly, sincerely, from the heart. Each gathering becomes a celebration of warmth, unity, and emotional support.

The “Workshop of Resilience” is not about hobbies. It is about how creativity becomes a way to move forward, overcome loneliness, inspire, find new meaning, and share experience. It is about how a community transforms into a family, where every participant feels valued, needed, and important.

The stories heard within these walls are chronicles of women’s endurance, kindness, and love for people. Here, age is not feared — it is respected. Fatigue is not judged — it is supported. Weakness is not tolerated — it is strengthened through kind words, smiles, warm tea, and shared work.

The project’s name is symbolic. “Workshop of Resilience” is about hearts that have not been broken by the weight of time. About hands that still create good. About souls that continue to dream, hope, and love.

We sincerely thank every participant, every volunteer, and everyone who contributes to keeping this space alive. Because initiatives like this build a strong, empathetic, and united Jewish community — a community that remembers its roots, supports elders, and grows in love and gratitude.

“Workshop of Resilience” is where creativity heals, supports, and unites. And once again, it reminds us: life continues where there is care, inspiration, and an open heart.
