The еmbroidered сode

Participants, blending tradition with modernity, explored the art of decorative embroidery and created their own unique patterns

The meeting within the project “The Embroidered Code of the Nation” took place in a format that combined the exploration of decorative embroidery with the exchange of ideas and meanings. Each participant felt the warmth of the atmosphere created by the project’s co-coordinator — her thorough preparation and genuine attention to detail were deeply appreciated.

During the event, participants immersed themselves in new embroidery techniques, experimenting with shapes and colors to design their own unique patterns. We carefully arranged our symbolic elements into separate containers - Alatyri stars, logos, encrypted words - everything that shapes our embroidered space.

A special source of inspiration was a book from Mrs. Yevhenia’s collection, a 30-year-old edition featuring embroidery patterns from different regions of Ukraine, which helped us create our own embroidered map. The discussion also touched upon traditional shirts - we shared ideas, made sketches, and explored the cultural meanings behind their elements.

The participants were delighted to discover new horizons in the art of embroidery, immersing themselves in tradition while collectively creating a space for creativity. There is still much more ahead, and as Liudmyla emphasizes, to be continued!
