The taste of Good Deeds
As part of the global Good Deeds Day initiative, volunteers set out to places where warmth is awaited with open hearts.
Rozhyshche Shelter is not just a place — it is a home where every sincere conversation, every act of attention, every shared moment creates real miracles.

We arrived not empty-handed, but with inspiration, love, and fragrant ideas for a workshop. Together with the volunteers, the children prepared traditional Jewish treats — Aman’s ears, filled with symbolism and sweet filling, as well as a filo dough pie, which seemed like real culinary magic to the children. It was not just a cooking process — it was a joint creative experience that united several generations, cultures, and stories in one kitchen.

While flour settled on the children’s little hands and the air filled with the aroma of baking and laughter, an atmosphere was born that will be remembered for a long time. We talked, shared emotions, spoke about kindness, about Purim, and about how important it is to feel part of a community where you are seen and accepted.
The best recipes are those where the main ingredient is not listed in the recipe: love, attention, and care. The volunteers created not just a treat, but an event that left a warm mark in the hearts of both children and adults.

We believe that true community strength is born in these seemingly simple moments. When good deeds become a tradition. When everyone who joins brings a little light with them. And that light remains with those who need it most.
Thank you to every volunteer for your inspiration, openness, and readiness to act. For putting your soul into every deed. Kindness is a choice. And our choice is to create it every day, together.
